ChampionKids is an initiative of Youth TransformNations, a non-profit organisation that seeks to empower children around the world to transform their generation. ChampionKids has been running a children's home in Andhra Pradesh, India since 2008 and a school since 2010. The children are either orphans or at risk due to their family situation.
The Challenge
Due to poverty, children in India are forced to work as child laborers in construction places and city markets. Others are sold into prostitution and many abandoned by parents. Learn more about Champion Kids here... 
This is Rajyalakshmi. This is Her Story…
Rajyalakshmi is born into a Hindu family. Her family lives in Eluru city in the State of Andhra Pradesh, India; in slums where thousands are living in very poor conditions. Her father is a truck driver and suffers from Tuberculosis. Because of his health, he is unable to work and provide for the family. He is also unable to receive any treatment for his condition simply because he has no money to pay for any medicine...(read more)

On 30 January 2013 we had a ground-breaking ceremony on the recently purchased half acre plot and will be starting construction of the home and school soon! We believe that ministry in Vijayawada for the orphanage should become self-sustaining and will get going on cultivating the land. Though income is minimal, it is important to utilize the land until sufficient funds are raised for construction.
ChampionKids' Home and School will include dormitories, classrooms for up to 100 children, toilet facilities, kitchen. HELP us raise USD100,000 to build ChampionKids' home and school near Vijayawada, Andra Pradesh, India! You can help build the future of these children! Update (Jan 2015): After meeting with 3 different construction companies and civil engineers and going over several plans with multiple revisions, we have finalized the plans for the next phase of building. Phase 1 will consist of a 2054 sqft block with a dormitory, kitchen and toilets at a cost of SGD38,000. The foundation and structure will also allow a second level to be added in future.
